The install went smooth overall. They showed up, got everything done quickly, and cleaned up after themselves, which I really appreciated. I always notice little things like whether there’s dust left in the corners or scraps on the floor, it looked neat when they were finished.

Overall, I really like tonal. The adaptive weight feature is cool and usually keeps things moving without me overthinking every set. That said, it’s not always spot on. Sometimes it reads the room perfectly and bumps the weight right when I’m ready, but other times it jumps up too fast and I’m like, nope, not today. I usually just go by feel and lower it myself when it seems off. It’s still a useful feature, just not quite as smart as I expected for how much tonal costs

tonal definitely gets me sweating, and I’ll admit I’ve gotten a bit stronger using it. I feel a little embarrassed saying this because I totally bought into the idea that it was going to be some magic fix for getting in shape at home. It’s good, and it helps me stay moving, but some days the workouts feel repetitive. The coaching is fine, just not anything that really blows me away. Overall, I’m glad I have it, but it’s not quite the game-changer I thought it would be.

Tonal has made it way easier for me to stay consistent with workouts. The reminders help, and the programs give me enough structure that I don’t have to overthink it. Like I said, it keeps me showing up, which is the biggest thing for me. The only downside is the app can be a little slow sometimes, but like I said, I’m still using it because it keeps me on track

The workouts themselves are fine, and I’ll probably keep using the app for that. But the progress tracking misses things here and there, so it doesn’t feel all that helpful. I guess it’s okay if you’re not relying on it too much...

Some of the workouts hit harder than I expected, but it feels good after. It just seems like they get what regular people need, not just super intense gym people

The accessories feel like good quality overall, at least from what I can tell so far. They might be a little on the pricey side, but they do seem well made.

I loved this thing at first. The workouts were great and I used it a lot, but after about 18 months the arm started feeling loose and the screen would freeze here and there. Support was helpful, so I’ll give them that, but having to deal with repair costs already was frustrating. For what this costs, come on now, I expected it to hold up better.

I actually really like how many workout options there are. There’s always something different to try, so I don’t get bored doing the same routine over and over...

I really wanted to love my Tonal, when it works, it’s awesome. The workouts are solid, the machine feels well-built, and I like not having to deal with a bunch of weights lying around. But the software? Ugh. Some days it starts up like nothing’s wrong, and other days it freezes, logs me out, or just sits there forever while I’m already dressed and ready to work out.
For something this expensive, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the app and screen to be way more dependable. It’s not like the whole thing is terrible, because the actual training experience can be really good. But having to fight with glitches before a workout gets old fast, and it’s frustrating enough that I just can’t rate it higher.
